Kendrick Homes Plants 650 Trees Through the National Forest Partnership

As a housebuilder, we’re proud to shape communities — but just as important is how we support the landscape beyond them. That’s why, at Kendrick Homes, we plant one tree in the National Forest for every home we build. It’s a long-term commitment we made to help protect and enhance the natural environment, and this month, we were delighted to receive an update that brings this initiative to life.

We’ve now funded the planting of 650 trees in the National Forest. These trees have been planted in young woodland called Lower Linbrook Wood, part of the Needwood Forest landscape near Newchurch, Staffordshire. Once used for pasture and maize cropping, the site is now home to a mix of field maple, alder, birch, hornbeam, oak, wild cherry, hazel, small leaved lime, and beech, carefully selected to support biodiversity and create a resilient woodland for future generations.

The tree planting took place over the most recent planting season and forms part of the wider National Forest vision — to create a healthier, greener, and more sustainable environment in the heart of the country. This particular site will not only boost nature recovery and store carbon, but it will also provide public access, giving people the opportunity to explore and connect with nature.

Head of Land Management and Estate, Stuart, from the National Forest tells us more below.

This partnership aligns closely with our wider sustainability values. From building energy-efficient homes to supporting local wildlife through responsible landscaping, we believe that every home we build should leave a positive mark, and our contribution to the National Forest is one more way we can do just that.

We’re incredibly proud of the 650 trees planted on behalf of our homeowners, and it’s our hope that, in time, this woodland becomes a thriving and lasting legacy. We’d like to thank the National Forest team for the important work they do and for sharing this update with us. We look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership as we build more homes across the Midlands and beyond.
