We’re delighted that five families are one step closer to moving into their new affordable homes in Cheltenham.
The homes, at our Hillfort Place development in Leckhampton, are part of a scheme secured via Cheltenham Borough Homes on behalf of Cheltenham Borough Council.
The properties are now in council ownership before residents get their keys later on this month.
These new properties at Hillfort Place on Shurdington Road were developed in partnership with Kendrick Homes Cheltenham Borough Homes as part of a Section 106 agreement. The affordable homes on the development comprise 2 x 2 bed houses for rent, 2 x 3 bed houses for rent and 1 x 2 bed house for shared ownership.
The shared ownership scheme, also known as ‘part buy and part rent’, could ultimately see the home owned entirely by the shared owner. This is a direct outcome of Cheltenham Borough Council’s key priority to increase the supply of housing and investing to build resilient communities.
Cllr Victoria Atherstone, cabinet member for housing at Cheltenham Borough Council, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with local developers Kendrick Homes to bring forward five more affordable homes for residents of Cheltenham. These new homes in Leckhampton, for affordable rent and shared ownership, form part of our wider £180m housing investment plan to provide much needed affordable homes for Cheltenham.”

The homes are part of wider scheme, which will provide for sale a further seven homes through Kendrick Homes. In securing the five affordable homes on this site, CBH will ensure these go to local people most in need of affordable housing. The new homes are due for completion in autumn 2023.
